About the community
New Holly is one of Seattle's newest neighborhoods, re-formed from Holly Park (built in the 1940s to house defense workers and veterans and in 1950s, converted to public housing). In 1995, Seattle Housing Authority decided to re-build New Holly (often spelled as "NewHolly") to create a mixed income community that consists of housing, learning center, library, and many community building programs and activities.
